Best inexpensive facial moisturizer ?

Postby jaap » Fri Aug 06, 2010 11:50 pm

Of late, I've been trying to take better care of my skin and keep it better hydrated (especially during the summer months). Along with drinking more water and trying out some new "DIY" skin remedies I have also begun using toner and a moisturizer on my skin.

Unfortunately, my skin became irritated due to the fact that I over exfoliated and used a toner containing alcohol. Also, I think I may have a slight reaction to my current moisturizer (it's the Wal-mart equivalent of Neutrogena's Oil-Free moisturizer for sensitive skin. It does not have an SPF, so I bought some face sunscreen as well with an SPF of 50)

Along with taking it easy on my skin and kind of taking a break from all the harsh stuff I've been doing to it, I'm also going to look for a better moisturizer. I have combination skin, meaning I have an oily T-Zone (forehead, nose, and chin) but my cheeks are usually very dry (right now they are irritated however and have small red bumps that are slightly raised and itch a little). I don't want something that is going to feel greasy, oily or waxy. The stuff I'm using now doesn't seem to work into my skin as well as it should (compared to a much older moisturizer I had) and I'm just not in love with it. Ideally I'd like something under $10...but no more than $15-$20.

Can you recommend any light, airy, oil-free moisturizers that will work on combination/sensitive skin and will moisturize my skin making it feel soft and smooth that is inexpensive? And, contrarily, are there any that you would stay away from?

Thanks!

I personally like Aveeno & Neutrogena.
I think the right product for you is Neutrogena Moisturizer for Combination Skin.

I have combo skin and I've found that CeraVe moisturizing lotion works really well. It keeps my dry areas hydrated but doesn't add more oil to my oilier areas. It's about $13-14 at most walgreens stores and at www.walgreens.com. You should give it a try. It's a little bit more money than like Clean n' Clear or some other well known brands like that, but it's so worth it.

Hope this helps

I love the Yes to Tomatoes facial hydrating lotion which is especially for oily/combo skin. It has worked very well with my skin! It's completely all natural and free of parabens.
You can find it at walgreens and it's about 14-15 dollars.
