Building Up A Fake Tan Before Going On Holiday..?

I'm going to Mallorca a week on Tuesday and really dont want to be the palest person at the pool! I've been using the Garnier Summer Body lotion to try and build up a bit of a tan before I go, but what will happen to it once I get out into the sun and the pool? Will I still be able to tan through the fake tan? And will it go streaky do you think? Any help at all would be great, I'm stressing about this now!! xx
