My son is 10 1/2 months old and he's been coughing/runny nose for 1 1/2 weeks and I took him to the doctors last week and he looked fine lungs sounded great...He's also teething so they expressed it could be that...well now he has these red bumps on his thighs..they don't seem to bother him but his skin feels really dry right around there...I keep putting lotion on them but he's had them since Friday...I was wondering if anyone has experienced this? Can it mean he has allergies? I have horrible seasonal allergies and so does my mother...I believe he had these bumps around the last time the season's started to change...He hasn't shown any food allergy so I'm unsure. Any advice would be great.

my son had something similar like that when he was a baby, he would get patches of red dry spots or bumps on his body. they sent me to a baby dermatologist and he had some kind of skin problem but nothing serious. they prescribed him a lotion with steroids in it and it helped. hes soon to b 6 yrs old now and he had bad dry skin no mater how often i put lotion on him.

Try topical zinc - oxide - sounds like a form of diaper rash.
