Deodorant help????????????

Postby kynlas » Tue Aug 03, 2010 8:44 pm

ok- so i've switched around with my deodorant and can't seem to find one that works for me
i've used dove, mitchum, secret, and others, even some natural ones but they never work
i'm not so worried about the smell, more the actual sweating, which seems to happen even if i'm not doing anything- which then shows through my shirt and causes me to wear a jacket when i really don't want to
i was wondering if anyone knew of any deodorants that work, or what to do?
anything is helpful!!! thanks!!

Deodorant help????????????

If you are trying to find store-bought solutions, you may try putting talc powder or baby powder made with talc on, after your deodorant. This will help soak up excess sweat.
This seems to be a serious issue for you. I would suggest talking to your doctor. There are pharmaceutical grade antiperspirants that he/she can prescribe. If that doesn't work, there are other alternatives. Some people with serious sweating that can't be controlled with antiperspirant have botox injected into their sweat glands to paralyze them and thus stop the excessive sweat.

Deodorant help????????????

Your sweat glands are over producing sweat.
Your best bet will be to try those "clinical strength" drug store products, such as from Dove and Secret, or to use a prescription strength product.

I use Certain Dri because I too have sweat problems, and anything weaker either makes me sweat more or doesn't have an impact. If the drug store products don't work, talk to your doctor.

As for those suggesting powders: If you have a SERIOUS problem, meaning that you could sweat in a blizzard (I know I can) even if you were naked, then just sprinkling some powder will do nothing. In fact it could make it worse by causing it to clump together, leaving you with clumpy armpits.

Deodorant help????????????

I have used this for years, and it seems to be pretty effective. since non-natural deodorants/anti-antiperspirants contain aluminum (shown to have an effect in Alzheimer's) I like to put a little natural deodorant on, and then sprinkle some baby power and pat it a bit.
