Try not to eat chewy things or chew gum alot. That is usually an issue for me. But other than the heating pad and guard there is not much else. I know your pain!

I didn't have it during pregnancy, so I was able to take pain killers. Mine was brought on by a really bad car accident though. I didn't ice, but what did use was heat. That helped. It was still extremely painful though. I know it's not the greatest option, but if it's that bad, you can talk to your doctor about getting some sort of light pain killer. I don't really like the idea of taking anything while pregnant, but in the case of something extreme, and only rarely I think it's okay. You could take like a low-dose hydrocodone, which is just vicodin w/o the Tylenol.
