Hi guys, well im off to the hygienist on next monday to have my teeth cleaned up etc, then on the friday(4 days later) im going to a beauty salon and having L.A tooth whitening...just want to know the process really and if it will hurt etc? how good are the results? thanks guys xx

Whitening does not harm your teeth!!!! I work in a dental office and it is a completely safe procedure. You can however have some sensitivity which is normal and will go away within a few days. I dont know about going to a salon to have it done though, i was trained to do in office bleaching on patients and it isnt just putting the gel on your teeth and sticking you under a light! If its done wrong you can have your gums and tissue burned by the gel and light. i would tlk to your dentist about what options they have for whitening. If you want a better, long term whitening process id ask about having bleaching trays made. You can wear them at home and you get quicker and lasting results! And in the future if you need a touch up, you just get more gel and wear them.

Whitening teeth isn't healthy. It takes enamel off your teeth. Stay away from stuff that stains your teeth, eat a proper diet, and brush and floss daily.
