One thing I do is I never look directly at the camera..
I usually look up and at an angle.
I'm not sure what you look like and depending on how you look is how to better answer the type of make up.
I agree w. the Vaseline tip though and practicing in the mirror..
Looking up like I suggested.. I usually focus on my eyes.. eyeliner, mascara..
Depending on your eye and shap and color, you can have diff types of eyeline.. though I've found a dark navy blue is good to make brown eyes look brighter and
as for mascara, make sure it's even and not in clumps.
I don't really wear makeup so I'm afraid this is all I can do to help.
Hope I did help!!
Try putting Vaseline on your eyelashes before you go bed which will make your eyes looks wider..
Always carry around vaseline though, its a MUST HAVE girls handbag item, looks great on your lips too.
I used to look bad in pics too but then I figured out how to smile differently and have it look good. I practiced in front of a mirror for a very long time to get it right and then took some test shots with my camera until I started to look really nice in pictures. It changed the look of my whole face. Now I always smile the same way for my pics and everyone tells me what a beautiful smile I have and how photogenic I am. I think you just have to figure out what it is about your face that doesn't look good in the pics and then change it. Like if it's your eyes, try squinting them a bit or opening them bigger or "smile" with your eyes as Tyra says. If it's your nose maybe you need to tilt your face to a different angle. Practice with your digital camera before your prom and find out what works.
