How do I hide my bruises, if I am going to the beach tomorrow?

Ok well just two days ago, my boyfriend and I really got into it. I wouldn't really call him a full time abuser, but hey is physically abusive if he gets really mad. We've had an on and off relationship for the past 1 year and 4 months, basically because I would pretty much run away for a while then come right back to him. Don't ask me why I do, I ask myself that question every night, it's just something about him that I don't want to lose. Anyways, I have a really bad looking bruise just above my hip, it is about 3 1/2 inches long and about the same width, then I have one on my right arm above the elbow, but that one is small, so it shouldn't be that noticeable, and then I have a bruise on my face, starting from the right side of my nose and it spreads about 2inches to under my eye. Usually I would just use makeup, but I realized it didn't work. I tried using foundation, press powder, and a powder brush to hide it and tested it on water, but it washed away of course. My only problem is my best friend and some other friends are going to the beach tomorrow morning, and I need to find a way to hide them because if they see my bruises, especially my best friend, she will flip. Me and her have been friends ever since we where in 3rd grade, so we know each others families. If she finds out, there is no doubt that she will go straight to my family and tell them. That is the last thing I need to happen, because they are extremely protective of me since I am the youngest (18).Most likely they will press charges and I really don't want to have to go through that. How can I hide them? Is their any other good cover ups you recommend? Please, anything can help!

First break up with him. You are so much better than that and can find what you see in your boyfriend in another man, and second Waterproof makeup. Try Ulta, Target, Sephora, the Mac counter at Macy's and breaking up with your boyfriend. From your avatar I'm guessing your light skinned so make up in your shade might not be hard to find.

first you need to get away from his *** and second...go to the mall and get the make up that covers tattoos...it should cover it up

I agree honey you should break up with him. You are so young and there are many guys out there that know how to treat a women. I have been in a relationship for 3&ahalf years where the guy mentally abused me not the same as physical but abuse is abuse. I finally left him and found the man of my dreams! He is my everything and knows how to treat me. Remember this there is ALWAYS BETTER OUT THERE. I know its hard to let go of people especially after a year but its not worth being abused by someone. If someone loved youlike they say they did how could they hurt you like that? I suggest leaving him and having the strength not to go back, maybe not go to the beach tomorrow. If you decided to go i suggest going to maybe macys to the mac counter and asking them for a primmer & then use your cover up. A primmer evens out your skin color so the foundation will cover everything. GOOD LUCK. I WISH YOU WELL & HOPE YOU HAVE THE STRENGTH TO DUMP HIM. I WILL KEEP YOU IN MY PRAYERS.

I have news for you darling- a ONE time abuser is an abuser! Get away from this idiot!!
It will not get better, and you will not change him!

Let me help you put this in perspective...
When you were a little girl, and dreamed of your wedding day, walking down the aisle to the arms of the man you love, were you wearing makeup in your dream to cover the black eye he gave you the week before your wedding??
When you dream of holding your first child, are you saddened by the memory of the miscarriages he caused by beating you in your dreams?

No one wishes and dreams of growing up to be abused. You fall into this pattern and make excuses that it's normal, or it's ok, and it's NOT.

It takes a strong person to leave, and a coward to stay. If nothing changes, NOTHING CHANGES!!
