i'm 17 and have been dealing with mild acne since late primary school (ages 11-12) i wash my face twice daily and have tried various acne control products such as clearasil products and clean and clear and benzoyl products, but nothing has worked. it makes me really self conscious because my skin mottles, and makes the acne and the mild scarring look even worse. and i don't wear make up cause that just causes more acne.

i am a naturally shy person, but this makes it so much harder for me to meet and talk to people. please help me.

All creams and gels are only considered acne suppressors. You can go to a dermatologist and they will put you on the right track for getting the only one true cure for acne, Isotretinoin. First the dermatologist will prescribe you a variety of powerful pills and medications but if he believes your acne is severe enough he will prescribe something like Acutane or Amnesteem. These are seriously hardcore drugs though, as in you MUST stay on birth control pills during the 6 month period it is prescribed. There are many side effects like depression, dry skin, frequent nose bleeds, liver failure, Crohns Disease and many others, BUT for each time it is prescribed you have a 50/50 chance of curing your acne FOR LIFE. Btw you have to go to the dermatologist once a month for blood work. I know all this because I am currently taking this medication and recommend it to anyone that can get it prescribed to them. Wash your face with Hydrochloric Acid. It literally burns all acne off of your face.

Ok, don't use any more products because the more you use the more your skin becomes immune to them, use epsom salt to wash your face daily - it should burn a little.

Rub your face with one ice cube each day.

use proactive that stuff works just as good as they make it seem, it gets the job done and gives you clear skin.

I'm 32. I have acne still. Although, admittedly not NEARLY as bad as I had when I was a teen. Mostly, I only get acne when I have my period now. Let me know what you find out.

People swear by Proactiv. Didn't do jack squat for me.

Try tooth paste..just apply it on before you go to bed...for a few days or a week and you will probably see some shrinkage or reduction of the acne... I know it sounds crazy just try it,what do you have to lose? it worked for me

Go to your doctor and ask if there is something they can give you.. the first time I went to the doctor they sent me to a dermatologist and that worked good until i stopped going and getting the meds... i hated taking pills everyday for it.. anyway i went to a different doctor like 3 months later and they just gave me a prescription and i didnt need to go to the dermatologist again or nothing.. so ask if there is something they can give you

well if u have tried everything then maybe u need to go to the skin doctor it could something medical that the doctor could do
