For your mom, maybe get her a really good cookbook, or a kitchen appliance she doesn't have. Like a crock pot or pressure cooker. Last Christmas my dad got my mom a mixer thing...like a bowl and it mixes stuff like mashed potatoes for you, she loves it.

Dad's are really hard to shop for. Last Christmas I gave my dad a spare flat screen monitor for his computer because he had one of those old fashioned fat ones. Even though it was a spare he liked it a lot.
