I have a ford truck and my friend say it might need a fan belt later on he put body soap on it?

is is now squealling real loud it wasnt squealing before he put soap on it could it have damaged it

Wash the soap off, let it dry, tighten up the belt or get a new belt. Check the pulleys the belt goes around to make sure they turn.

no, the soap will be acting as a lubricant causing the belt to slip, hence the squealing.

lol ! ok why did he put soup on it. The only way to make sure if you need a fan belt is to see the revers side and check if it has cracks on the belt. good luck

That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.He messed it up you need a new belt go get a new belt and never let your friend touch your car again.
