Sounds kind of like hyperpigmentation. NeoStrata has two skin lightening products, or you can try Dr. Brandt Flaws No More Lightening Serum. The Dr. Brandt product covers all the bases - it can lighten freckles, even skin tone, and minimize dark spots and discolouration after getting blemishes. Its main ingredients are:

* QuSome - delivery system that delivers ingredients deeper and faster to the epidermis.
* Fullerenes - absorb and neutralize free radicals to protect healthy skin cells.
* Albatin - skin brightener that helps reduce the over production of melanin.

If you decide to try that, upon the first few applications, some people may experience dry, flaky skin; to prevent dryness apply a moisturizer over the lightening serum.

Lastly, wear sunscreen ALL THE TIME, as the discolouration may be from sun damage.
