Im 13 and wear powder everyday, is that bad?

Postby quarrie » Wed Aug 11, 2010 6:50 am

My skin is EXTREMELY oily on my T-zone (forehead and nose). so i lightly powder my nose and forehead. he only thing i wear with that is a moisturizer, clear mascara, chapstick, and lipbalm. is that too much. also oil-blotting papers help, but in like 1 hour my oil comes back. plus i use oil free cleansers adn moisturizers. is it bad for someone my age to wear powder everyday?

no why would it be bad? just wash your face twice a day, and remember to take it off at night with make up remover (non oily)

well it doesn't seem like a lot because you just putt it on your t zone, but i would recommend a gel cream for the oil, I have the same problem and i just bought a lotion from lancome called pure focus and it really works for my t zone. It's a little pricey but definitely worth it if you have a lot of oil like me.

No, it's not bad. It's not going to cause your skin to age, it will only cause break outs if your skin does not agree with the ingredients and if you use a dirty brush to apply it.

As for your skin being so oily, it is likely because you are not hydrating your skin properly, or are using a cleanser that is too drying. Oil is NOT the enemy, just an abundance of oil and the wrong oil is. I use jojoba oil as my moisturizer, which does NOT break me out, and I use a milk cleanser that contains natural oils in it. I also have combination-dry skin, with an oily t-zone. The use of these products helps keep my oil to a minimum, and I do not wear any facial makeup like powder or foundation.

Well if you make sure to take the powder and all your makeup off its not necessarily bad but it ages your skin
