This may seem like a random question but is there metal in deodorant? I'm allergic to metal (I'm not sure what specific kinds yet) and when it is in contact with my skin for long periods of time I develop a very irritating rash in the spot that the metal was touching. I can't wear necklaces or bracelets (rings don't seem to bother me) I can't wear belts. For the longest time now every time I applied deodorant I get those exact same itchy bumps and welts when I have a reaction from metal. I figured that my skin was extra sensitive to that particular brand so I tried another. Every brand I've tried gave me the same reaction. Please let me know if there's even a trace amount of metal in all deodorants.

Aluminum is an ingredient in deodorant and is a metal.

The active ingredient in antiperspirant deodorant is aluminum-something-or-other. It's some long word, but yes it is a metal.
Check the ingredient label before buying deodorants. All antiperspirant ones contain some type of aluminum or zinc byproduct.

Either look for deodorants that aren't antiperspirant or look for natural ones.
Go to your local health market and they should sell natural ones there, and always check the ingredients.

A lot of the deodorants, mainly the anti-perspirents produced a while back contained aluminum. But recently there have been studies that show that the aluminum in deodorants maybe be to blame for some cases of alzheimers, so most deodorants don't contain aluminum anymore, but some still do. Either way, ALL deoderants must list whether aluminum is in it, so just check the back of the product.

yes it does contain a type of liquidised metal but im not sure what type..

this is one of the reasons why it is advised not to but deodorant on straight afta a bath or shower, because whilst the skind is wet and the pours are open from the heat, your skin in a way disolves the solution.

Most Deodorant is made of Aluminum Zirconium.
