this defiently isnt fair. yeah do your chores watever, but you are still their kid a year out of high school, i think it might be weird to move out though espesially if your going out of state for college, you need to save your money. Now your parents are getting 600 dollars a month for somehting theyve been doing for the past 18 years, so i think you should talk to them

Thats dumb u need to talk to your mom because thats not fair. tell her that it's hard to work and then get no satisfaction but to give it all to her, tell her that u are going back to school and it's just not fair and ur working to hard to give it all to her.

520 or 600, you're both paying most of your paycheck. The thing about living at home as an adult is that you really have no recourse. It's their house, their rules, they say do this, don't do that and you have to do it because you're an adult living at home.

It's not really fair, while i think that it's great that they're not going easy on you, it's just obviously a lot to ask out of you. You need to sit down and write down all your expenses and explain to them that you just can't afford to pay them that much rent. Are you just renting a room? If so that's ridiculous. It is their house and i guess ultimately they can tell you whatever they want but these are not landlords, they're your parents so you can talk to them and negotiate because $620 + everything else they're asking for is just too much for the amount that you're making.

Get a clue! They are going much easier on you than if you had to get out on your own. Maybe they would like for you to figure out that you can't make it without an education. Have you priced all of the stuff you said they're paying for? $600 doesn't even begin to cover what you're costing them! Dam*ed but you have it easy. I've seen kids living in their cars so count your blessings. If you don't like it try moving out and see how far you get. As for the folks on here agreeing with you that it's not fair I'm guessing that they're either younger than you or about the same age so of course they agree with you. If you were a responsible young adult I'm guessing there wouldn't have been a problem. Think about it honestly, did you really bother to do your chores according to the way they're supposed to be done or did you just do them half-a** and let your mom clean up behind you? Your parents have done their job and now it's time for you to do yours. GROW UP and live in the real world you ungrateful brat.
