MJPoll: Don't you think it demonstrates a lack of respect...?

...when the Weather Channel refuses to preempt its regular programming and cover the Michael Jackson memorial service? I mean, what's more important, the King of Pop's legacy, or a severe thunderstorm warning?

And don't even get me started on Animal Planet. The man lived with chimps, for God's sake...

Star if you think QVC could at least spend the day hawking sequined gloves.

Y!A sez: Arts & Humanities > Dancing. And moonwalking on the Fitness Channel couldn't hurt, either.

There/s nothing disrespectful about the Weather Channel’s decision not to preempt its normal programming and join with many other channels in celebrating the life of Michael Jackson. With so much coverage, there was virtually no chance that anyone with access to a television would be unable to see the celebration of Michael’s life.

The Weather Channel is a public service channel. Our police and fire fighters didn’t take the day off to watch Michael’s funeral, and I don’t think anyone would see that as a sign of disrespect for Michael and his family. All the attention and love showered on Michael today must make his family proud.

Michael is one on the greatest performers in history. Maybe he’s number one. It’s too bad he didn’t get a chance to see how many devoted fans he had.

RIP, Michael.

I am disturbed by how much coverage Michael Jackson's death and memorial is getting. There are children that starve to death every day, United States veterans that live under a ******* bridge, and do we see that on every TV station? Nope. Lets honor Michal Jackson because he could sing and dance! **** the kids and veterans, we've gotta pay respect to Thriller. Give me a freaking break!

my weather channel is still giving the weather it's the news channel that's showing the memorial
so either all of you guys are stupid and don't know the difference or I'm stupid and just don't believe you plus if something serious was happening the weather would interrupt the program

Hurricane Katrina is blamed for causing great destruction and people talk of Katrina like it is a real live entity, and it meant to harm New Orleans. She won’t be forgiven.

MJ on the other hand is a CM. People overlook this and say his performances were next to none. The only difference is that MJ, could control his actions, and Katrina was the result of wind patterns.

the man died GET OVER IT, plenty of other channels are preempting theire programs to allow the services to be covered. Just about every news channel in existence will be broadcasting the services so u shouldn't be upset that a few channels decided to continue with their regularly scheduled programing.

yes its rude, but if the memorial is already on one station, does it really need to be on 30? plus, then again, if they preempt for mj, then wat about every other celebrity? i guess farrah would be pretty upset.

* Weather Channel should know better than that.
This is the storm season, and they have to be aware that all the news programs have that covered.

Just what this has to do with weather is beyond me.
