Most all ppl I know that have bipolar or schizophrenia do things so much different. Does this sound familiar, eating with hands, cramming their mouth full, always in a hurry but never going anywhere, Peeing on the toilet lid and around the commode, spitting snot on the floor, vomiting in the sink because of over eating at nite, putting cigarettes out where ever, writing on walls, this mind you is not a child but a 28 year old. These are just the charateristics of most ppl with disorders. It's like you tell them over and over but it doesn't sink in. This person I am speaking of is on meds and doing well compared to what it once was. I am just thankful he is not lighting fires on his carpet and disappearing for weeks. Meds do help but you would have to get a involuntary commitment from a magistrait, the jail is where we go here, and they are there all nite, you will have to say if he has threatened anyone or is harm to himself befor they will draw up one, once they do the police will go get him and escourt him to a mental health service or a hospital and evaluate him , then he will be committed at a hospital and put on a locked ward, there he will be treated with meds to help him. Most facilities are gentle and nice, of course there is always one or two that are not. There he can get help in filling out forms to be put on medicade insurance and he will also be put on disability so he can get a check every month to live on. First he has to have a diagnosis from a dr. And this is prob. the route you will have to take, i did this 6 times for someone i care about and after a lot of hard work he is doing much better now.
