Well using excessive heat really thins out your hair, that is why mine is thinned out now. I don't understand why a doctor would know about hair care in the first place though. You need to go to a dermatologist to check this out as it can be alopecia to a thyroid disease. But lay off the heat, as that is one of the reasons why my hair is thinned that and chemical straightening. Also, pay attention to where your hair is coming out. If you mean the whole hair strand with the white bulb on the end and it comes out in clumps yeah you have a problem. If it is the hair strand breaking off then it came be damgage from washing, dying, heat, etc. Remember, humans shed 100 hairs per day so some of it may be normal.
