What causes drenching night sweats? (Non-menopause related)?

I have been experiencing night sweats for SO LONG and I can't figure out why. I'm only 23, so I've ruled out the menopause option. The only medication I've been consistently taking over the years is Zoloft, and I'm almost down at the lowest dose (which means side effects are really rare). Is there something else that can cause night sweats? It happens to me all the time.. in the summer and winter, whether I'm ...

What does menopause mean?

I have no understanding of what menopause is. Isn't it one of the stages of cellular replication? That's what I think it is. But can you tell me what it really is?

Finally saw a doctor about my hot flashes!

Yes I did! I had some blood work done and I will find out if I am menopausal. If I am my doctor will try some meds in low dose. Fine with me! I am sick of getting hot flashes on top of the heat we get off and on! I was hoping she would not complain about my weight. She did but at least she didn't make cry like my regular doctor did!

Dear lord, help me please?

Dad's crash dieting to the extreme; mom has begun menopause and it hit her hard.
They both have the emotional restraint of a paranoid-schizophrenic. They look for reasons to argue no matter how small and try dragging me into it... ugh.

Are there any negative effects if you stop taking biotin?

I like what I've heard about its effects on hair and nails (It's in my mom's menopause vitamins, and she's seen some improvement.), but I've also heard it can make periods hell and skin impossibly oily (My forehead already becomes reflective halfway through the day.) If it turns out that the detriments outweigh the benefits, are there any "withdrawal" symptoms? I know, it's just a vitamin, but, say, if it makes my nails stronger, and ...

Has anyone used one a day menopause vitimins ? need tp know if it works?

Are you having menopause symptoms? If so, I would have a complete panel completed of all hormones. Testosterone, cortisol, DHEA, estrogen, progesterone.

I have been researching menopause for several years and have interviewed several doctors. Eating habits play a dramatic role in menopausal symptoms.....processed foods, sugars, white flours, alcohol, hormones based foods. Stress levels are another major culprit. Take time for yourself each day. Look at balancing your life.

Not sure if this is what ...

I'm 19 and have polycystic ovary syndrome, what are my chances of getting endometrial cancer?

Hi,
I too am 19 and have polycycstic ovarian syndrome. When I was diagnosed by my local GP, I was referred to a gynecologist who helped me with questions like this.
In relation to endometrium cancer, it is generally considered a high risk if there is anovulation, no period at all. But because you are on the pill and have somewhat regular periods, I would try not to worry. During menstruation, the lining of the ...
