Skin Infection? Dry Skin? Herps? Razor?

Postby dwaine26 » Sun Aug 15, 2010 1:30 am

Ever since I started shaving my vaginal area it has became very itchy. I started a few years ago maybe 2 and everytime I do it because very irriated and itchy! I've been looking on line and the things people are saying is very scary!

Heres the run down!

Ok, when I shave, I shave my vagina bald. I dont like the prickly feeling at all & I dont use scissors to cut it down either I just shave! At first I thought it was the shaving creme then I started using soap!
The soap helped it ease up a little but still very irrateted. When no hair is present my vaginal area isnt itchy but when the hair begans to come back there goes the itch again!

Often when I shave after maybe day 2 the Razor bumps start appearing & they start looking like pimples and so on.. Sometime they even look red and maybe a little fluidly and ITCHY!

It doesnt itch all the time down there though.. Should it ever itch down there?

It's really annoying!

Also when I shave I shave in different directs to that way there will be no pricks such as up and down and side to side. Can that be a problem? I have sensative skin on my face and such.. Could it be down there too?

PLEASE HELP BECAUSE SOMETIMES I BELIEVE ITS SOMETHING ELSE FROM WHAT THESE WEBSITES SAY LIKE HERPS & SUCH, I was thinking just ingrown hair but does ingrown hair itch?

Thank you for your time!

Skin Infection? Dry Skin? Herps? Razor?

It sounds like "razor burn". Razor burn is when your skin is irritated by the razor resulting in bumps and itching. As the hair grows back, the tiny new short hairs will catch on your clothes and undergarments leading to more irritation.

If you are worried that it's herpes, go to your local disease control or free clinic for free testing. It's free, confidential and requires no permission from anyone!

It is itching from the hair growing back and resting on your sensitive areas, the very short hairs are the worst. I would just stop shaving down there... what's the point when it ends up not even looking attractive? I go through the same things you do when I shave, and it never gets better. I'm finally giving up. We just have sensitive skin.
You don't have herpes hun, don't believe everything you read... especially on the internet.
