The Scent of a Woman.............or Man....... ;)

I have a very sensitive nose and to top it off I'm extremely sensitive to chemicals as well. I had to stop using perfumes, many years ago as they would break me out, or I could only wear them spritzed on my hair. I noticed that, now, chemical perfumes are VERY noticable to me and VERY unappealing. It's as if I can't get past the chemical smell, they just smell...well...manufactured. So...I started wearing essential oils instead, they don't break me out and I've a few that are my favorites. I really loved the scent of Patchouli, but the last 2 bottles that I bought stunk! I really think something was wrong with them because they just do NOT smell like I am used to. I have natural patchouli soap and a body cream that smell lovely. I'm really thinking I got 2 bum bottles. Now...all that to say, I'm interested in exploring new scents. I don't like powdery or really sweet smells. But without going to a perfumery, who mixes oils, I'm a bit limited. I'm wondering what scents might mix well together...what should I try? Any suggestions? Are you familiar with essential oils? What scent do you like on your woman?(be nice) For the ladies, what scent do you like on your man? Are you someone who appreciates a good fragrance or does that not entice you? I get compliments, all the time, on patchouli, but I have to say it's mostly women that like it. LOL! Help a gal out, would ya?

My mom is sensitive to chemical perfumes too. I've never tried Patchouli oil fragrance before. Personally, I really like the scent of lavender oil/perfume. It smells really good, but you have to be careful with how much you put on. Certain lavender oils can be very strong. Rose oil smells good too, but again - you have to be careful with how much you apply. I like the smell of sweet perfumes that aren't strong and spicy. One of the best perfumes I've ever tried was Fantasy by Britany Spears. My sister got it as a gift from her boyfriend, so I guess HE really liked the smell too. That stuff smells sooo good. My sister loves it - even my mom, who is not a fan of MANY perfumes, loved the smell. lol. For guys, not picky about the fragrance as long as they don't have me choking on air. I like clean/fresh smelling cologne for guys (like they just got out of the shower).

Yea..and I don't like a guy smelling like a gal! LOL! I know that choking feeling, man some people must use it for detergent, shampoo, and body lotions! Ugh! Less is MORE people!

Yeah...it's unusual when you smell a sweet, flowery men's cologne. lol. I bet there are very few colognes like that out there. A lot of guys feel that they have to smell like spicy cinnamon and bitter orange for women- stuff that stings the nose when you smell it. I prefer a clean, subtle fragrance on guys (like mint or soap) or no fragrance because most colognes make me gag - they are so strong. You know what, I really like the smell of honey. If a guy smelled like honey, I wouldn't mind at all.
