I don't know what approach i should take but currently my hair is about 6-7 inches long. For some odd reason my hair isn't growing anymore, no seriously its not that it doesn't look like its growing but is. My hair has been this length for about 3 years now and I've tried everything to get it growing again. I think it may have to do with a really bad perm i did back in high school. anyway, I've thought about getting box braids with extensions to get the shoulder length look that i want but I don't know if my hair will lock like dreads should after a few months. Will my hair lock with box braids, and i have heard from a few friend that if i get human hair extensions it would be fine to let my hair lock with the extensions, is this true???

don't do it with extensions. it will look really gross and not work well.
but i think eventually over time the box braids WILL turn into dreads, just research dreads and how to take care of them properly, and they will turn out fine.
