What to do in and around Munich?

Basically I am visiting Germany and am leaning towards Munich as opposed to Berlin or Frankfuhrt (having been to Cologne). What is there to do apart grom touring the city? Any suggestions, just throw 'em in. Less tan 50 miles preferably. Oh and I speak German so don't just say tourist spots

I like Nymphenburg, Hard Rock/Rathaus area of the downtown, the treasury and the English garden.
I recommend getting the DK guide for Munich and the Bavarian Alps. The maps are invaluable and can tell you much more than I can about the place names! I can never seem to get the churches and gates straight!

The Olympic Stadium is definitely worth your time.
