I have come across several questions whereby the asker would ask if she looks good without makeup, and some answers would say how pretty she is without it, and then advice her to go without it. While I respect such honesty and genuine initiative to help, but what do they have against makeup? I have also seen responses that makeup is bad for a person, which could be true several hundred years ago, because they used lead to make the powders white, but with the technology now, makeup is relatively safe to use.

And can anyone please help me clear the air about why makeup is considered to be a mask that hides a person's true self, because for me, a person's true self will NOT be able to be witheld because it is revealed in all that person does and says.

well some people don't want to use make up because they think it will like ruin their skin or w/e, and some people.... they say that it covers up your true beauty, like how you really look, make up is like a fake face :/ (i do NOT agree)

Sometimes it depends on culture - if they ban women against wearing makeup. Others say it's because God made you the way you are and by wearing makeup you are altering it. And about the harmful to a person, I think the worst it can do is clog pores, which we can easily clean with soap or face wash. And maybe if it gets into your eyes too many times.
To be honest, if someone says they hate that person wearing makeup, I think that is a load of crap. Makeup does alter a look but it's only so a person can feel better about themselves. It's about self-beauty, not the beauty of what others see. Maybe for some it's hiding something deeper than just outer looks.
But if it makes a person feel absolutely gorgeous, than more power to them!

I'm not against it but a guy friend of mine says that he thinks girls that wear too much makeup seem like they don't like the way the look = no confidence which is key to a guys heart. I'm pretty sure everyone just thinks their 'fake' and maybe just jealous on how they can pull it off?

and for that its bad for your skin bs, some makeup even is good for your skin- like my foundation (and no im not advertising for it) that I have, its called Afterglow, its organic, minerals, and has things good for your skin like vitamin e and etc. plus no animal testing. yeah i guess some crappy brands can make your skin worse but you can avoid that so theres no issue there for me.

Honestly, I think that if people cared about how fake someone looks with makeup they must be implying that looks don't even matter so they shouldn't even care in the first place. Although personality does matter more than looks first impressions are important!

Some people just think that you should be natural and be proud of the way you look. Some girls actually don't need makeup and look better without it. Some take advantage of it and end up looking like cheap, trashy barbies.
